Before
you begin, you must:
- have some
teaching experience or training; and
- be an
experienced rider with demonstrable competence.
You need
to meet these CAN-BIKE requirements:
- take and
pass Skills
II with an 80% or better mark on written exam, handling skills,
and road tests;
- receive
a recommendation from an Examiner or Instructor for Skills I
Instructor certificate on the Course Registry Form with your statement
of intent to practise-teach
Skills I Courses and the Kids CAN-BIKE Program.

- Smart
Cycling written exam
- Kids
CAN-BIKE Course (Cycle Right) written, handling and road exams
- (There
are no testing requirements for Introduction to Cycling Skills
and Skills I)
Skills
II Instructor
and
Kids CAN-BIKE Festival/Course
Instructor Trainer
Before
you begin, you must:
- be an
experienced rider with demonstrable competence; and
- have some
teaching experience or training.
You need
to meet these CAN-BIKE requirements:
- take and
pass Skills
II with an 80% or better mark on written exam, handling skills,
and road tests;
- take part
in a Skills II Instructor workshop run by a national examiner;
- pass the
road/handling tests with 90% or better mark, either during the workshop
or as administered by a national examiner to meet Skills II instructor
standards;
- write
and pass essay exam with 70% or better mark;
- apprentice-teach
Skills II under supervision of a Skills II instructor
or national examiner;
- national
examiner recommends the receipt of Skills II Instructor certificate
on the basis of candidate's intent to practise-teach at Skills II and
below.

at Skills II level;
- Has teaching
and testing authorities of Skills I Instructor; and
- May co-teach
Skills II course with certified Skills II Instructor or National Examiner.
